I wrote up a post on how to opt out of the new version of Google Forms. For now, forms which will work with the Google Forms plugin can still be created.

This is bad news, indeed. I very much hope you’ll be able to work out how to support the new version of Google Forms. Your plugin is truly wonderful and is very important to us.

As long as Google supports the ability downgrade the form to the prior version the plugin will continue to work. So far, that option hasn’t gone away. Keeping my fingers crossed it stays!

Thanks very much. In my experience Google eventually forces everyone to upgrade to whatever new version they produce after a certain length of time. This is what I am worried about.

    Hi Mike,
I just tried to use the new google form with your plugin. As you know, it doesn’t work, it doesn’t change the world for now, but there’s a functionality I’m interested to : In the new google form, you can pre-fill form, they provide a new url with the prefilled field. Interesting.

Google has offered the ability to prefill forms for a long time so it will work with older version of Google Forms. There is some information on my web site on how to do it. I’ll try and find the posts later today.

    Hello Mike,

i am trying to use your plugin on my site though i can’t make it work there’s only a sign in form appear on my page.

    Regards,

It sounds like Google Docs is asking you to login to see the form. That usually means you haven’t published your form so it can be viewed by anyone with the link.

Confirmed plugin is broken using new version.

    Works in older version.

Do you have any intention on upgrading this plugin to be compatible with the new method being used by google?

Intention? Yes, if it is possible. I don’t know if it is possible. What Google did is a substantial change. My real problem is bandwidth to work on it. I am swamped with a project at work which is taking just about every free cycle I have so finding some sustained time to focus on this has been a challenge. The best I can do right now is suggest the form downgrade option.

I plan to add a notification on the Dashboard to let users about the lack of support for “new” Google Forms but even finding time for that has been hard.

Totally understand, say no more. Just wanted to verify as I am new to using this plugin and wanted to make sure it hadn’t been given up on. I wish you the best of luck finishing the project at work, and afterwards take a break! :p

Also I think the dashboard notification is a great idea when you do eventually get some time to work on it. Thankfully this post came up pretty quickly after I started googling ??

    Hi Mike,

I was always using your plugin on my site. But recently i can’t make it work there’s only a sign in form appear on my page.

    All my forms are published.

    Please help

Sounds like your form is based on the newer and not supported version of Google Forms. See this for a solution on how to resolve.
