Yes, I'm reviewing this even though the plugin was by our team

I do use this on my personal site, so this is a valid review, but I’m being clear as to why!

In fact, I’ve been using this plugin for about six months since version 0.3, in order to see what issues and concerns might come up for general users.

Key advantage for me personally has been that in my personal site’s design we make extensive use of square thumbnails, but as a keen (but not necessarily good!) photographer I don’t frame everything centrally. This meant a lot of thumbnails looked wrong and I couldn’t always use the image I wanted to as a featured image. By using this plugin everything got tidied up.

The plugin is also able to work with Regenerate Thumbnails which is incredibly useful if you’re swapping themes as resizing everything correctly and keeping it looking right won’t take you much time.
