thanks, I finally found something that works. I can’t get it to work on my own blog, https://www.sickerthanothers.com, if you’d like to check it out-evidently there is already nag page code in there, but in thecowgoddess.com/wordpress it was in the wrong place. When I try to resolve this on mine, it doesn’t show up still.

jwurster – i don’t think it’s a plugin… it’s regular nav code.

molly – are you getting the code blocks from the codex? there’s a certain way to do it for say, the “index.php” pages, and yet another for individual post pages…

I am using stuff from the codex, but I’m confused.

When I put in the nav code on my index page, I get the following error:
WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ” at line 1]
SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT ID) FROM

This will not help you, but i just wanted to say i love your domain!

molly – what code are you trying to use exactly, and where EXACTLY on the index.php file are you putting it?

that error doesn’t seem like it would have anything to do with nav code at all… that’s why i’m asking

I did some searching online and saw that a few people had re-installed, which fixed the error. I tried it, and that worked. The only files I overwrote were admin, and everything in the root save for the config file.
