Yet Another Pingback Post

  • I have spent the last few hours verifying 100% that NEITHER incoming pingbacks or trackbacks work on my WP blog.

    There are tons of posts on both in these forums, but not definitive answer.

    Can someone please verify for me that trackbacks and pingbacks SHOULD work in WP 1.5? Like….someone ACTUALLY has them working?

    Note: I’ve tried the functions.php patch and the feed-functions.php patch, but neither worked.

    OK, how about pingbacks…any idea?

    And perhaps my trackback tester thing is borked. Any chance I can get you to trackback a demo post to https://www.jonwatson.ca/blog/wp-trackback.php?p=117 for me?

    Trackbacks and Pingbacks ARE just supposed to show up in comments, right? I don’t have to include any special tags for that?

    And now I know why…I can’t fix it, but I know why.

    This was happening a couple of days ago and then it went away, but now it’s back.

    When someone tries to trackback me, it 404’s out. The wp-trackback.php file is where it is supposed to be and has the right chmod….

    I tell ya, I love WP, but the trackback and pingback have to be the buggiest things I’ve seen anywhere.

    Anyone seen this beore and know how to fix it?

    Screw it. I’m tired of pulling my hair out chasing trackback gremlins.

    I’m using Haloscan until this thing gets sorted out.
