yet another “square not populating locations” thread

been trying off and on to get this woo plugin set up for about 6 months now. so this has been over several versions of update. tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin. tried unlinking and relinking the square account. disabled all other plugins and tried relinking. basically every other threads solutions but it just will not populate the location field for me with any of the suggestions i’ve found.

square account only has one location and it is currently enabled and used to accept payments through the square website and through the mobile app. (been used for the last 2 years)

properly updated security certificate for the website, site is properly using HTTPS. the only thing i haven’t configured yet is the terms and conditions page but that shouldn’t prevent me from setting this part up.

appears there is just no response from the square server. as far as i can tell there is nothing being blocked on our end, as we self host this website nor is our ISP doing anything funky.

sorry, ignore the copy-paste of the “WooCommerce status log for ref as well…” as it was a ctrl+z gone awry.

also if you Ctrl+v paste something into this forum submission field and then press Ctrl+z to undo it… it removes it from view…but it stays hidden and gets submitted anyway. separate bug for the forum plugin I guess if someone wants to tackle that one.

Could you please provide us with a screenshot of the locations set up in Square so we can check to see that there is an active location set?

If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, here are a few options:

I recommend https://snipboard.io/ for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL(s) in your reply.
You can simply drag the image and drop it to generate a link to share.

Can you also ensure that the Payment Gateway is in live mode. Please share a screenshot of the Square payment gateway settings at WooCommerce> Settings> Payments> Square.

As a side note here, it would be helpful to rule those out any possible conflicts with the Square Payments.

yes i believe it’s setup properly and enabled. i’ve basically just run though the initial setup phase where you have to log into your square account to link it and it says it’s successful, the next screen that comes up is asking to select the location to continue, but it’s unpopulated.

i’ve already run the through the disabling of the plugins to see if that fixes it, but it doesn’t seem to. I don’t use much for plugins and nothing drop-in or must-use.

Thanks for sending over all of these screenshots. Is the location in the Square account set up for processing credit cards? Often when the location drop-down is empty, it is because the locations aren’t yet set to accept cards.

If that’s not the case, could I get you to open up a ticket at WooCommerce.com? You’ll need to set up an account if you don’t have one yet. Then you can create a ticket. Make sure to include a link to this thread too.

yes, we have been using this square account for about 2 years now. it is definitely setup to accept cards, since that is currently the only thing we use it for. i have created a support request at the link you provided and also linked back to this thread in the body of the ticket.
