Since I upgraded to WP 2.1.x, I have not been able to find/use the feature in “Reading Options” where previously I could set “Show at most X days” on Blog Pages…

For example, previously I could show only the last 3 “days” of posts on my front page, but now I can only show a certain number of “posts” and not “days”…. is this very valuable feature hiding? How do I get it to only show 3 days on the front again?

I am already using the “Custom Query String” plugin, but that doesn’t do days either–only does it by “posts”….

    tks!

Anybody know where this feature went? It was very useful, but disappeared on 2.1.x installs….

Anybody know? This feature was in previous releases, but has now disappeared… or am I just blind and missing it?

Can’t help you, I’m not using (and wouldn’t use) that version.

I’ll confirm that Show At Most is now only “Posts” not “Days” with the 2.1x branch.

Why? Well, I haven’t a clue. I suppose you’d want to poke through trac or the wp-hacker archives?

I’ll say I’m somewhat surprised to hear it missed — I’d never had it work properly for me and was under the impression that was somewhat the norm.

Well, it never worked for me on any version.

really? It worked fine for me on a number of different blogs on different servers. ??

I also worked very well with the Custom Query String plugin: I limited my blog to only show the last “2 Days” of posts in the dashboard and then used Custom Query String to limit to further to just the last 5 posts…. so if I had 8 posts in the last 2 Days, it would only show the most recent 5 posts… but if I only had 3 posts in the last 2 Days, it would still only show those 3 posts and no more…

Darn… I miss this great feature.. Custom Query String doesn’t have a way to limit to “X Days”, so does anyone know how to do that on the index page?

    Tks!

    Does anybody know:
    a) why this feature was eliminated by developers in the new versions?
    b) how I can use a work-around to get this feature to work again?

    tks!

Sorry to keep yapping about this, but am I the only one in the world who misses this fantastic feature? Nobody else ever used it? Anybody know a workaround to start using it again?

No, you are not the only one. I too used to function regularly and successfully. I really would like to see it come back, or at least be made available through a plugin. As of now, due to the change, the plugins which addressed this feature no longer work either.

I really do hope they give us this feature again.

sorry for late entry, but I just upgraded and was stunned to see this feature missing.

I always had the last weeks posts on the front page. So you knew if you visit the site weekly you wont miss anything. Since the number varies from week to week now I will have to constantly change this number…big pain

I love the upgrade, but why on earth would they remove a feature that worked and was helpful?
