    Hi there,

I tried to install Yikes Easy forms and the Yikes Easy popups extension to my wordpress website but when I clicked ‘activate’ plugin, it crashed my site. Web designer believes it is to do with a compatibility issue between Yikes and Visual Composer. They said that if I buy Visual composer 5.0 it MIGHT resolve the issue, but they are not completely sure (essentially it is a guess).

Can you help or advise? I don’t know what to do as I’m not technically gifted and I do not want to waste time and money going down the wrong path.

They gave me this log example below:

[Wed Nov 23 12:26:48 2016] [warn] [client 213.104.55.114] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function vc_add_shortcode_param() in /var/www/vhosts/hiddenhandclothing.com/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/yikes-inc-easy-mailchimp-extender/includes/third-party-integrations/visual-composer/visual-composer.php on line 17

    Thanks.

    Hi @huckleberryb2b,

Sorry we haven’t answered your question yet. I am unfamiliar with Visual Composer and am trying to get more information on compatibility (and differences in compatibility between versions). I hope to get back to you with more information soon.

    Kevin.

    Hi @huckleberryb2b,

Visual Composer is a large piece of software so I cannot tell you that it will 100% work. However, I have successfully installed Visual Composer 5.0 in my environment, and I’ve gotten popups and the base MailChimp plugin to work without errors. I know that our Yikes MailChimp plugin will definitely not work with Visual Composer versions < 4.4. I believe this is where your error is coming from.

As I said above, I don’t want to say with certainty that upgrading to 5.0 will fix everything, but it seems likely to me that it will fix this specific error.

    Hope that helps,
    Kevin.
