Yoast 14.3 release causes issue with swift page builder
-
Hi all,
since the last Yoast update (14.3) I can no longer access the Swift page builder in the backend of my website. As soon as Yoast is deactivated, everything works fine. I have read that there might be problems when using Yoast an [xyz] page builder. But since I had no issues by using the previous version I was wondering if you have an idea how to solve the issue.
thanks in advance

@julian2102 We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue with the most recent release of the plugin. Can you please first check to ensure that your theme, Swift Page Builder and all of your site’s other plugins are up to date?
Also, can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.4.2? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/
If after confirming that everything is up date the issue is still occurring, can you please check whether any JavaScript errors are being showing in your browser console when the issue is occurring? We have more information on checking for JavaScript errors with your browser console here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/
not to dog-pile but noticed a similar situation with the Divi Theme/Builder when using the latest WordPress-SEO plugin. I just downloaded a fresh copy of the plugin and replaced all of the directory contents of the plugin. When active i get a slew of .js errors, the moment the plugin is disabled Divi lights up and functions normally.

Hello @projectsmadesimple
Since you are using the Divi Theme/Builder, would it be possible for you to open a new forum topic so we can check on this further? Please make sure to provide all necessary information such as your WordPress version, if this issue didn’t occur in the previous version of Yoast SEO for WordPress v14.2, versions of the Divi Theme/Builder, and how to reproduce the issue. Thank you.
Hello @devnihil,
thanks for your quick reply.
Swift Page Builder and all of my site’s other plugins are up to date and I can confirm using WordPress 5.4.2.
There are errors occurring when checking the Javscript in the console of chrome. How can I share the screenshots with you?
Thanks
JulianHello @julian2102
Thanks for confirming that there are indeed JS errors showing in your browser’s console. Just to be sure that the conflict is indeed between Yoast SEO and Swift Builder, we would like to rule out any other plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. The fastest way to do this is to?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?
Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.
As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process:?How to check for plugin conflicts.
Hello @mikes41720,
thanks for your help and the input. Used the step-by-step guide and found the error which was not caused by yoast. Sorry for the circumstances and thanks for the great support
Best,
Julian
