I had to remove Yoast from this site because it was inserting both an og:image and og:image:secure_url. Facebook was giving an “invalid image content type” error. I replaced the plugin with Rank Math and all is fine now. Too bad. I liked Yoast SEO. ??

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

It is expected that Yoast outputs two og: urls. Indeed, so does rank math. See image: https://pasteboard.co/IzY0HJD.jpg.

We are not sure why you had an invalid image content type warning, however, if you were to re-activate Yoast and run the URL through the debugger tool here https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/ and then scrape it, does the issue resolve?

You may need to clear all the caching on your site prior to scraping.

I did all that. I even turned off all other plugins and reverted to Twenty Nineteen. Yoast and Facebook continued to not get along. Rank Math works, but Yoast does not. Some article I looked up on Facebook (can’t find it now) said that you can’t have both and that’s what the meaning of the error was that I was getting. I have no idea why. Been wanting to try out Rank Math for a while though, so I guess it’s for the best.
