    Hi,

If I do a search in Google, using French or German search words, I still see the snippet in English. However I have made sure that all snippets on every translated page have been translated as well. I have checked other settings in Yoast and Polylang (activated “detect browser language” too).

Searching for: “plongee krabi” 9French) or “tauchen krabi” (German) will produce a search result with an English snippet.

    Any ideas are highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Hi,

We would like some more information.

    1. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO, v12.6.2? If you update, does the issue resolve?

    2. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

3.Can you provide a link to these French or German translated pages? Or is it you are expecting people to search using those language terms and see your homepage snippets translated into that language?

    Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I actually expect that when people search in a particular language, the snippet also shows that language. For all my pages in every language, I wrote a snippet in that language.

Right now for example, searching for: “plongee krabi” (French) or “tauchen krabi” (German) will produce a search result with an English snippet.

    Thanks again!

Google tries to match the shown language to the language requested by either the browser or user settings. This likely means that your browser or Google account is setup to use English as the main language. But you can add a custom piece of code to the search URL to force it to show you the result in a specific language. This is great for testing what your site search results look like to other locales.

    https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aexample.com&hl=en (English)
    https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aexample.com&hl=fr (French)
    https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aexample.com&hl=de (German)

    Closed. No further questions.
