Hi, I am having the exact same problem.

The actually gallery on the page was not responding. When I went to test the envira gallery with a new test page the page would completely lock up and freeze when I inserted the short code.

I had 500+ console errors. And the errors point back to Yoast.

Can you please confirm whether the issue persists while using the default 2017 theme and all the non-Yoast plugins are disabled?

@bluefusion @rughjm It seems this issue has been corrected in version 1.8.1 of the Envira plugin. Can you please update the plugin and let us know?
