A couple of days ago, I had Yoast take down our whole server. By chance, the issue happened on an account that did not have a disk space cap set, which allowed the issue to become a problem for the whole server. Apparently Yoast began to “spam” log files (that was the phrase used by hardware tech support) which ended up eating up all remaining disk space. Once that happened, there were of course additional problems the server had when it no longer had space to function. I use the Yoast plugin on a lot of sites, and haven’t seen this issue happen on other accounts as of yet. I currently have it disabled on this one particular account. Are there issues with either the current version of WordPress, or PHP 8.2, that would cause this kind of thing to happen?

    Hello @mywebmaestro

I’m sorry about the server crash you experienced. Yoast SEO is compatible with PHP 8.2, but check that the site/server meets the other plugin requirements. Can you share some of the errors you found in the log related to the plugin?

We look forward to hearing from you.

I use it on a couple of hundred other sites on both the same server and another server set up the same way. I don’t think it’s any of those requirements, or I’d see it happening more often.

It turns out that particular site was using the premium version. I don’t have log examples, as the tech had removed them to make space on the server to get things back up and running. The free version of the plugin doesn’t appear to have the same issue, as that’s currently in place now of the premium one.
