I noticed that my website looked strange (layout all messed up on chrome browser) and so went to check the pages for anything wrong. Could only see 1/23 of my published pages in the WP dashboard.

I use Divi and Woo Commerce. Changin theme to twentytwenty did not help. I r=deactivated all the plugins and found the culprit to be Yoast.

I also received a message from WordPress alerting me that my site is experiencing a technical issue,

It to lme to: “First, visit your website (https://chicmouldings.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://chicmouldings.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page) and check for any visible issues.”

I had contacted my host already. It is a conflict with Yoast, they said.

For now, yoast is not activated. I did try to report this on github as directed, but apparently I wasn’t supposed to because I’m not a technician, so I didn’t report it correctly. Apparently I should have let Yoast know by writing here, so her goes! Hope it can get fixed soon. Many thanks.

  • Hi,

We apologize for the difficulties the plugin is causing for you. We would like some more information.

    1. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO, v14.6.1? If you update, does the issue resolve?

    2. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

    3. Can you elaborate more on what is meant by “Could only see 1/23 of my published pages in the WP dashboard.” and “layout all messed up on chrome browser”? Can you take a screenshot of the issue? You can use a tool like: https://pasteboard.co/ to share the image.

    4. If you check for JavaScript errors do any appear on that pages which have issues? Can you describe them or take a screenshot? If you are not sure how to look for JavaScript errors please use this guide https://yoast.com/help/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/.

    Hi @pcosta88

Many thanks for replying, Answers as follows:

1 & 2 – Yes, everything is the latest version. All plugins and theme.

2 – When I navigate to “pages” in the wordpress dashboard. out of the 23 published pages I have, I could only see two of the (therefore was unable to click on and edit any of the other pages that were not visible in the dashboard) These two pages were, unusually, spread across two pages in the dashboard as well.

3 – What it should look like: https://pasteboard.co/JjIYvsU.jpg

What is looks like when yoast is activated: https://pasteboard.co/JjIZ540.jpg

4 – There do not seem to be any errors with javascript. https://pasteboard.co/JjJ1AUt.jpg

    Thanks

@beckseden Thanks for your reply. Can you please confirm whether the issue still occurs when using a default theme such as TwentyNineteen?

Also, you said you received an notification of an error in WordPress in your initial post. Can you let us know what that error is?

    Hi again @devnihil

Also, yes, twenty twenty produced the same symptoms as divi when yoast was activated.

I have just tried it with twentynineteen and that, too produces the same problems when yoast is activated.

    Thanks

    Hello Becky!

If everything’s updated on your site, we need you to perform a conflict check. The fastest way to do this is to?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site. You may follow the steps here:?How to check for plugin conflicts.

    Hi @onlyincebu

I’ve just gone through all those steps. Same results. The only time it happens is when yoast is activated, both on twenty twenty and divi themes.

I have already been told off by someone on github for trying to report a bug incorrectly. I am not technical enough sorry.

Unfortunately, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

    (@beckseden)

Oh dear, that’s disappointing considering all the time I’ve put into reporting this and doing all the things I have been asked to do. Can you be sure it’s only my website? It’s only a recent problem. No errors were found with yoast before, so why now?

Does yoast professional get much better results? I’d struggle to afford the pro version at this stage, but if it gets good results maybe it is worth it?

    (@mazedulislamkhan)

We totally understand how that could be frustrating for you. However, we are not aware of such issues with the latest version of Yoast SEO plugin, nor we were able to reproduce such issues on our end and as such, we think this is an issue specific to your setup that will need deeper investigation which we can’t do in the public forum.

    Thanks for your understanding!
