Yoast/Extra theme hanging post editor

    For a while I’ve been having problems adding/editing content on my site. When I go into the page to add/edit, the page editor seems to load and render fine, but after loading it then hangs and gets unresponsive for upwards of 2-3 minutes. It appears to be making more calls in the background. After extensive troubleshooting, I was able to narrow it down by enabling and disabling plugins and found I can reproduce the problem with my Extra theme (2.26.5, Elegant Themes) with Yoast 11.7. If I disable Yoast the problem goes away. If I have that theme and no other plugins enabled the problem occurs. If using Twenty Nineteen theme with only Yoast enabled I don’t see the problem. So it appears to be the plugin with this theme.

    If the issue persists, just to be sure, we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. The fastest way to do this is to?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?
