Non-premium Yoast is in my WP page by default, it seems. Why does Yoast page assessment bear no relationship to the real page?
It makes criticism that the keyphrase is not in the metadescription, even when pasted from one to the other.
It says there are no external or internal links to a page that has 70 external and 1 internal.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

We are sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with our plugin. We can imagine how that could be frustrating for you. Let’s see what’s going on here.

Focus keyphrase isn’t I’m the meta description
The issue you’re experiencing typically occurs when the focus keyphrase doesn’t match with what you have written in the meta description field. In this case, can you please share the focus keyphrase that you’ve used on the relevant page so that we can take a look at it?

    No external/internal links
This issue occurs when Yoast SEO fails to detect the links. Yoast SEO can’t detect links from outside of the content editor.

So, can you please confirm how did you exactly add the relevant links on the page? Did you add them using the default content editor?

We look forward to hearing from you!

I finally found this post again after much fruitless searching. Received no notice o f answer. My keyword phrase on the Diptera Table page above is:
    “fly families table links”

The meta description, pasted like the keyword phrase here is:
“fly families table links to families of flies, which link to list of species with photos and videos that are available for prints, publication, broadcast, and research.

    Looks the same to me.

As far as links, the page was largely built in Elementor and all links added there, so that makes them invisible to Yoast in WP?

Whenever someone replies to a topic on the WordPress forum, it sends a notification through the email. If you haven’t received it, make sure that it’s not in the spam folder.

That said, we looked at the relevant page meta description on our end and can confirm the focus keyphrase fly families table links appears on it. If you are still seeing the focus keyphrase doesn’t appear in the meta description, we recommend you to wrap the focus keyphrase using the double quote "fly families table links" to see whether this resolves the issue for you.

On the other hand, Yoast SEO now compatible with the Elementor. However, we see that you are running an outdated version of Yoast SEO v15.2.1. Please, update it to the latest version to have the Elementor integration in place which was released in Yoast SEO v15.4 and that shall fix the no internal/external links issue for you.

WP forum here is very difficult to navigate. I went from this page to update Yoast and the quotes around the keyphrase did enable recognition. Then I came back to my web tabs and this tab was gone. I searched other open windows and 2 other WP tab questions were open but not this. Then I searched for robirdman on the WP search and this post didn’t come up. Your current reply was not in my email nor junk folder. I got back by finding the original post to Yoast where they directed me to this forum, and found my post again.
Maybe it has the wrong email address? How to check?

Unchanged still is “Internal links: No internal links appear in this page, make sure to add some!” https://theearlybirder.org/diptera-families has 70 links

    Hi,

As for your concern on the www.ads-software.com forums, we recommend you contact the appropriate WordPress support for that. You can try to just save the URL to this forum topic and maybe try unsubscribing and subscribing to this topic again.

As for your issue with the internal links, upon checking this page https://theearlybirder.org/diptera-families/, it looks like the boxes contain links to https://theearlybirder.com/orders/diptera.html which is an entirely different website. If you add an internal link that links to another post or page on https://theearlybirder.org, does this resolve the issue?

    Thread Starter Rob

    (@robirdman)

Maybe that is why. I don’t know. there are no new links yet. While updating aspects of my .com website to WP, the long lists of species has been a stumbling block, as so far attempts to paste various ways have not produced the desired result. I don’t relish retyping almost 10,000 names by hand again, so until I figure this out, some links go to there instead of nowhere.

I just checked this table where the links are all within WP. It says I have internal links but no outbound ones. Meaning?

@robirdman Outbound links are links that go to a site other than the one you are currently on (https://theearlybirder.org/).

OK. So the Diptera page does say outbound links, good.
