I’ve spent 5-6 hours on this one. Enfold recently had an update and swore it was on their end… NOPE.

The basic logic – deactivate plugins till you find the problem – is what solved it and Yoast is the issue. I’ve deactivated, retested saving the UPDATE to the post and that works… If I enable the plugin again, go to make update to an existing page… and hit UPDATE… I get the white page of death.

And I am running WP4.8, 512MB WP memory, php7, latest enfold theme… re-downloaded the latest WP update… changes a ton of settings and reverted because nothing was working.

EXCEPT – deactivate Yoast… make changes and resaved Yoast.

    That just sux. Any ideas?

    Dave

  • In order to better assist you, we’d need additional information:

    • Can you please check if the problem is the same when all non-Yoast plugins are deactivated? If you are unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we wrote a small guide that will walk you through the steps. You can find it here: How to Check For Plugin Conflicts
    • Please check your server’s log for related errors. If you don’t know where to check, or do not have the privileges to check the error log, please contact your web hosting provider. They’ll be able to provide the related error.

Thx for your reply. I spent a few hours debugging even with the Theme author for Enfold (kriesi). See my posts here Enfold Post / Page Update and White Screen.

The only plugin that caused this issue was enfold. I removed old plugins too just in case… even removed any caching programs to debug. Thought it could have been wordfence too but deactivating that didn’t work either.

So is the conflict on their end? Perhaps. But you should know if you’re the root cause because it ONLY happens when Yoast is activated.

We suggest you file a bug report for the Yoast SEO plugin in the following GitHub repository: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo
