    Hi!

I have removed the x-mark on “Do not let search engines index this site” in the WP “READ” options (or however this is called, I don’t know the exact wordings as I am unsing a german version).

Still I get a Yoast warning that search engines can’t index my site.

    Please advise.

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Since you recently turned off the option to discourage search engines from crawling your site, it may take a while for the error to be resolved in the Google Saerch Console. As soon as your site is re-crawled and Google updates their index, it should be resolved.

To assure you, we performed a site search (site:https://www.geiger-gmbh.de/en/) and your site comes up in search results. See this image.

No! Sorry for beeing not clear enough: I turned off that option about A YEAR ago!

It is just Yoast that suddenly reports that false alarm. And I can’t switch it off. No matter how often I save this option, Yoast stubbornly ignores it.

    Hi,

Just to clarify, are you getting this warning ‘Your homepage cannot be indexed by search engines. This is very bad for SEO and should be fixed.’ in particular?

This might be a false positive since we’ve already confirmed that your website is showing up when performing a site: search. We recommend testing it with Ryte just to confirm that your website is indeed indexable. You can refer to this article here for more information — https://yoast.com/yoast-seo-ryte/#error
