I have set my post title – “Are off-page SEO techniques effective in 2018?”
    The title in Yoast – “19 Off-page SEO Techniques 2018 – Dos & Don’ts of Off-page SEO Techniques”
Google is picking up & showing my post title on search results instead of my Yoast title.
I removed the all snippet variables under the post in Content types but even that didn’t help. Please help me resolve this issue.

We’ve checked your page’s title and it is indeed

    19 Off-page SEO Techniques 2018 – Dos & Don’ts of Off-page SEO Techniques

    .

Please send us a screenshot of the title you have set in the Yoast SEO meta box, in the snippet editor, so that we can compare the data.

We are looking forward to your reply.

    Hi,

We checked and can confirm that you’ve set the correct SEO title.

Upon checking https://www.softscotch.com/off-page-seo-techniques/, we got this message:

This is Google’s cache of https://www.softscotch.com/off-page-seo-techniques/. It is a snapshot of the page as it appeared on 31 Jul 2018 21:15:28 GMT. The current page could have changed in the meantime. Learn more.

If you’ve recently updated your title, Google probably hasn’t indexed the new title yet. It can take up to a week for Google to index the changes you made, depending on how often your website is crawled. If you type, in Google, cache: followed immediately by the URL of your site or page, you’ll see what Google has cached for your site. If the appeared date is before you made the changes, we’ll have to wait for Google to crawl your site again. Sometimes you can speed up this process with the fetch as Googlebot tool. You can read more about it here — https://kb.yoast.com/kb/google-shows-different-titles-for-my-site/#cache

I have fetched the page 3 times already on search console. The last time it was fetched was on 30th July. The article was published on 20th July. I don’t think it’s an issue with Google. There seems to be a problem with Yoast.

We looked at your site and we can confirm that Yoast SEO is generating the SEO title correctly. If you are not seeing the correct SEO title in the search results, this means Google is rewriting the SEO title in the search results for your site based on the search term and other factors. Our this guide explains more about this.
