    Hi Support,

I have Yoast SEO installed and network activated on a WP multisite, and whether I do so via the workout or Tools menu, the Start SEO data optimization process never completes on any of the sites, it just continues to run indefinitely.

This behaviour is consistent across firefox and chrome. Interestingly, in the browser developer tools > network, it constantly cycles through terms. The sites aren’t particularly big content-wise and there are only about six or so post categories and about as many tags for each site.

I have already installed the Yoast helper and reset indexables tables and migrations, and I have tried disabling network activate and enabling the plugin individually on each site, but to no avail. I can also confirm that there is no shortage of processing, storage or memory resources available to WordPress.

Your assistance in resolving this issue would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello @webexec

We are sorry the SEO data optimization fails to complete after trying several resolutions.

To troubleshoot further, while you’re on the SEO Data Optimization screen, can you please check if there are Javascript errors on your browser’s console? You may follow the steps here: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/

No, there are no javascript errors appearing in the console.

Thanks for following up with us. It is rather strange that there are no Javascript errors and resetting the indexables and migrations table does not resolve the issue.

Our technical support team may need to take a look at your specific setup to see where the problem lies; unfortunately that cannot be done on a public forum. Our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support and that enables us dig deeper into what the problem might be.

Is that the extent of your troubleshooting? It’s clear that this isn’t a support forum and your only intention is to try to get me to pay for a software that I’m not even sure works for my use case. I’m just going to go ahead and uninstall and rather find an SEO software that does work properly with WP multisite.

    Hi @webexec

You’ve mentioned that you’ve tried to reset the indexables and other data using the Yoast Test Helper plugin, but this still resulted in the SEO data optimization process looping indefinitely, and that there are no visible errors, correct?

Unfortunately, without any clear error messages and without taking a closer look at your specific setup (to see why the the process seems to be looping indefinitely), it’s hard for us to troubleshoot this further.

You may want to take a look at this article or try to perform the SEO data optimization process by performing a conflict check (using a default WP theme and only the Yoast SEO plugin) to ensure there aren’t any conflicts with one of your themes or plugins that could be causing this.
