  • This is similar to the issue I’m seeing, I believe. 7.4.1 update didn’t fix it, either.

I’ve run into similar issues; for me, 7.4 & 7.4.1 were using the default og:image regardless of whether or not a featured image was set or the Facebook Image was set in the per-post settings.

I downgraded to 7.3 and the problem disappeared.

Alright, I’ll submit this case in your github repository.

I can only confirm this issue:

Up to a few days ago (last time checked & worked OK was 2018-04-30), sharing a blog post on FB correctly used the featured image that I specified both under “Featured image” as well as in the relevant social media sharing tabs in the Yoast SEO widget. Then, Yoast SEO was upgraded to 7.4, and since then, both Twitter and FB sharings *don’t* show the featured image. In the case of Twitter, the first image in the post is shown, but I can still toggle to the featured image. However, with FB, I can only toggle through images in the body of a blog post.
I’m upgrading all plugins, themes, and WP, as upgrades become available, but the 7.4 upgrade is the only one that can possibly have changed this (I don’t think Jetpack 6.0 -> 6.1 could have done this?). The upgrade to Yoast 7.4.1 did *not* fix the issue. The change was detected while still running theme GeneratePress 2.0.2, but also here, the upgrade to 2.1 did not fix or alter the sharing behavior.
I’m *not* using a social media share button (I have the Simple Share Buttons Adder plugin installed), but by pasting the post URL into a FB (or Twitter) post.

    ### Technical info
