Tested and found the reason my sites suddenly stopped linking to attachment.php and media (lightbox): Yoast SEO plugin.

On some sites, updating it fixed it (for now, but who knows what glitch the plugin will cause next) but on another site updating, and even deleting and reinstalling didn’t fix it (only not having it active fixes it).

Anyone know an alternative to Yoast for setting your sitewide SEO meta (change the way your post looks when you share it – ie remove the ‘- Site Title’ from title and change the post snippet (first 100 or so words) when you share to Facebook, G+ etc?

    • In order to better assist you, we’ll need more information. Can you please explain the attachment.php and media (lightbox) issue you’re experiencing step by step? Please, include a screenshot in your reply on which you highlight the issue you’re experiencing so that we can take a look.

In addition, could you please show us some example URLs where the issue remains occurring for you so that we can take a look at them?
