    after updating the plugin my website went into maintenance mode when my site was live again the Yoast SEO plugin was nowhere to be found in my WordPress dashboard all my articles are without keywords when i tried to install back the plugin it says update failed i did, however i did locate the file in my Hosting Cpanel i was wondering if should remove and install then manually. will all my keywords come back ?

    Thank you for reaching out to us, we apologize for having issues.

    From what you explain, we believe that the update was incomplete and not all files are in place. That is why the plugin is no longer listed in the plugin overview page.

    It is also expected that when you install it again from the WordPress dashboard, you’d get “Destination folder already exists”. We can confirm you may remove the /wordpress-seo/ folder under wp-content/plugins/. After removing it, you should be able to install the plugin again in your WordPress Dashboard without getting errors. All previous settings and entered data, such as key phrases, will show up again as those are stored in your database.
