    Hello @checmark

Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin. ?I understand you do not rank for specific keywords in search results. This could be because you are using highly competitive keywords. You could consider long-tail keywords. You can learn more at?https://yoast.com/what-are-long-tail-keywords/?and?https://yoast.com/focus-on-long-tail-keywords/

Thank you. I read those articles, but now I can’t find anywhere to add what I think were called meta keyboards before. I do believe that after I installed the plugin I did enter some terms like gun licensing and more, but now I can’t find where I did that.

    Appreciate your help.

If you are referring to the old concept of meta keywords, these have been removed from Yoast SEO Premium as of version 6.3. Please note, though, that there is a difference between meta keywords and the focus keywords that you input and optimize your content for in the Yoast meta box.

As for meta keywords, they have not been used by search engines for a long time, so we have chosen to no longer include them as a feature. We have an article that explains in further detail why we didn’t recommend using them and why they were disabled by default: Meta keywords: Why we don’t use them – and neither should you.

Thank you. Although I understand what you are saying about no longer using those keywords, I’m still confused by why installing and configuring the plugin has done nothing. The site doesn’t even come up using the specific words or on multiple pages. There is a possible issue with the spelling of the word “licences” because Google keeps asking to change it to “licenses”. The site firearmlicenses comes up immediately.

Appreciate any help you can offer.

As I have mentioned earlier, consider long-tail keywords. I recommend posting a question in the?Google Search Central Help Community?for further assistance.

I’ve followed your suggestion and installed the Google Site Kit and gone through the setup process, but I can’t find anything on how to add the long-tail keywords. A search on Google shows nothing.

    Appreciate your help.
