Yoast SEO Content Analysis Fails On Dashs and Periods

Yoast SEO Content Analysis fails miserably when the keyword contains dashs and periods.

As you can see from the screen grab here, the first six content analysis items state that the keyword is not found in the URL, the title, the first paragraph, etc., with the following diagnostic messages:

• A meta description has been specified, but it does not contain the focus keyword.
• BYou have not used your focus keyword in any subheading (such as an H2) in your copy.
• The focus keyword doesn’t appear in the first paragraph of the copy. Make sure the topic is clear immediately.
• The keyword density is 0%, which is a bit low; the focus keyword was found 0 times.
• The images on this page do not have alt tags containing your focus keyword.
• The focus keyword does not appear in the URL for this page. If you decide to rename the URL be sure to check the old URL 301 redirects to the new one!

All of which return with the “Bad SEO Score” warning icon.

The keyword “site-name-goes-here.com” (obfuscated on purpose) can be seen clearly in the snippet, it is the body of the text of the post, its is also in the keyword block, etc. There must be something wrong with the analysis since it doesn’t recognize a keyword with dashes and periods. Remove the dashes and period and the analysis works ok.

In this particular post the keyword is the name of this website, so seems to me that this is a party significant failure on the part of this plugin to conduct a proper analysis of the post for this use case.
