Yoast SEO Does Not Detect Source Link as Outbound Link

  • Just FYI, I noticed if your only outbound link in a post is in the new “Source” box in WP-Admin for the post, Yoast does not count it as an outbound link (probably does not detect it because it is in the separate box). This gets flagged in Yoast SEO’s analysis as an issue (as they want at least one outbound link per post), although it really isn’t one if it does get on the page I guess.

    The folks at Yoast are very responsive – they may be able to add a tweak to also look for a link in the Source box to avoid the issue from being flagged in their analysis.

    Thanks for the heads up about this. I’ll look into it and see if there’s something I can do from the PressForward end before asking Yoast about it.
