    Hey guys,

I have the latest version of Yoast SEO (v3.2.1) on the site in question.

I noticed an issue with viewing sitemap pages on a site with GoDaddy Managed WP hosting, when trying to submit a sitemap into Google Search Console. I can view the site_index.xml without issue.

On this particular site, I only have pages, so the only sub-index that shows up is page-sitemap.xml. However, when I click on that, I get the following error at the top of the page, with plain text entries that follow:

Warning: Class __PHP_Incomplete_Class has no unserializer in xx/wp-content/object-cache.php on line 520

GoDaddy Hosting has its own built-in caching plugin. I’ve tried clearing the cache, etc. without any help. Here’s where it gets interesting:

I, of course, did a google search for this error. I found ~350 pages that show this error in their search results. I did some digging, and they all appear to be on GoDaddy Hosting – although, I can’t tell if they’re all on Manage WP hosting or whatever, but I would guess they are.

They also all appear to be using Yoast SEO plugin. I’ve documented some of the sites and versions below:

    deepcreek.com – Yoast SEO 3.0.7
    navigatorfl.com – Yoast SEO 3.0.7
    riblogger.com – Yoast SEO 2.2.1
    walkaboutwellington.com – Yoast SEO 3.1.2
    thegorkabriefing.com – Yoast SEO 3.2.1
    callionpharma.com – Yoast SEO 3.2.1
    ctstatelibrary.org – Yoast SEO 3.2.1
    kosheroc.com – Yoast SEO 3.2.1

    Not all of them, though:
latindancecommunity.com – All in One SEO Pack 2.3.4
healthportal.co.ug – All in One SEO Pack 2.3.4
packrunners.com – All in One SEO Pack 2.3.2.3

I’m not sure what I can infer about this – maybe that there’s something with a generic SEO function that causes this error? Maybe it’s more of an issue with GoDaddy’s caching plugin – I don’t have any access to view the caching plugin details, remove it, etc.

I did download the file and at the top it describes the plugin as:

APC Objecct Cache (APC backend for the WP Object Cache) version 2.0.6 – which hasn’t been updated in over 3 years.

Also of note, you can bypass the cache by adding “/?nocache=1” to the end of the URL – and when I do that, the page-sitemap.xml sitemap loads without issue.

I’m not sure if you guys can do anything about this, but I figured this is the first step to getting the issue resolved. Any assistance you can provide is appreciated.

FYI – It appears I’ve found a workaround – I don’t know if it will last, but I’ve found that in the interim, going into the site via FTP, and renaming the “Drop-In” plugin file object-cache.php to object-cache.php.test.

The site still appears to function normally, from what I can tell, but I can now get the sitemap loaded into Search Console without issue.

I’m not sure if this solution would be frowned upon by GoDaddy or not. They may even change it back if they notice it, but at least I can get my site indexed in the interim.
