I updated Yoast and WordPress and now I can’t find the keyphrase field, the status icons are missing on pages and posts.

  • Everything is broken over here as well. I’ve reverted my installation.

For me 12.8 was there for editing main pages but totally gone in the editing section for other areas – existing and creating new

Checking my other websites – 12.8 missing from editing and creating new WooCommerce products.

Turning off all other plugins made no difference

Changed theme from a child 2017 to 2020 – no difference
    another using shop-front failed

Changed php 7.3 to php 7 – no difference

    This has a work around

Yoast is not broken, they just jumped ahead a little too fast.

Access to custom pages/posts now need to be turned on – details in link provided.

I tried it and it works.

I’m sure they will release an update to avoid the turning on of access, but I don’t see an issue if you do it manually now.

This workaround doesn’t work for us as we can’t access the SEO -> Search Appearance page as it’s blank when we go into it.

I recommend a Rollback to 12.7.1 that helps with my problme (media Libary broken by Yoast), still with 12.8.1 not fixed…

I decided to install this cool SEO alternative called RANK MATH, way better than Yoast with all of Yoasts premium features

    @victorpeace1

We understand you have decided to go with a competitor. If you would like us to continue to investigate the issue you had with Yoast we can do so. We ask that you please confirm the following as it would help us ensure everything is updated

    1. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO Premium, v12.9.1? If you update, does the issue resolve? We had some recent releases to fix issues as described in the changelog here https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-seo/#developers

    2. Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.3.2? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider.?Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast.?This guide explains more:?https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/.

    3. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

However, if you are happy with Rank Math, no worries. Let us know and we can close this topic in order to keep the overview.

If you are still experiencing the issue per the forum guidelines, we ask that you please create separate topics for the issues you are experiencing. That way it’s easier to track issues and provide assistance on your specific concerns on your specific site. Plus, you will get your own alerts for the issue rather than someone else’s. You may make a new topic here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/wordpress-seo/#new-post.

Before you post please make sure you are using the most recent Yoast, v12.9.1 and WordPress Core v5.3.2 and all your non-Yoast plugins are updated as well.

    Thanks!

Some websites (core php sites) with few words on the post, they are getting result on top 5. We have 450 words content not yet showing even first 10 result. Yoast now focusing on pro customers.
