    Hi everyone,

I’m actually working on this website: https://www.mytourtrieste.it
The theme I’m using is self coded and everything was working fine until I installed Yoast SEO plugin.

The issue is that, since the plugin was installed, the wordpress function the_content(); is not working properly.
Specifically, it seems to take always the content of the page set as “Home Page“.
I’m actually using the CoBlocks plugin and my Home Page has a Shape Divider block (coming from the CoBlocks plugin) as the only content inserted using the wordpress editor. Every other content of the home page is coming from custom code.
When Yoast SEO was not installed on my website, the “Esperienze” section of the page was correctly showing the content of the posts.
Since Yoast was installed, it’s always showing this shape divider taken from the content of the page set as Home Page. Also, every other call of the the_content(); function seems to display the content of the home page.

I’ve already tryed to disable one by one every plug-in on the website and the issue is clearly coming from Yoast. Once it get disabled, everything works fine.

The fact is that I’ve always used Yoast for its sitemap function and its breadcrumb functionality, I’d like to mantain it and find out what is causing the issue.

I apologize for any mistake made writing in English.

    Hi @richardelovia

We understand you have a custom-coded website using the CoBlocks plugin and custom code. You’ve mentioned that when the Yoast SEO plugin is activated, certain sections of your site aren’t working as intended.

We do know the Yoast SEO plugin works with the default WordPress block editor, however, we can’t provide troubleshooting for any custom setups that might require additional developer code and customization to make it compatible. Sorry that we couldn’t be of more help here. You may want to take a look at our developer portal for more information that may be of use to you.

    Hi @mikes41720

Thank your for your reply. I took a look at the developer portal and there is nothing that can help me there.
This is not the first time I’m encountering bugs while using yoast SEO.

The issue I mentioned, is not related with any additional developer code. Yoast SEO is preventing a basic WordPress function, used by every single theme (custom coded or not) form working properly.
Yes it is right that my theme is custom coded but this is related only to the aesthetical behaviour of the website. Everything is based on basic PHP WordPress’ functions.
How is it possible that, when yoast plugin is disabled, the WordPress function the_content() is working perfectly?
Why does yoast SEO interfer with any WordPress core function? I have already activated the debugging function on the website and I’m not getting any sort of error.

    Hi,

We advise that you perform this with a conflict check first starting with a default WP theme (e.g. TwentyTwenty) and only the Yoast SEO plugin activated and see if it working as expected.

Then, if you shift to your preferred custom-coded theme, and the issue then occurs, we can isolate that it’s a conflict with your theme and the Yoast SEO plugin. However, since we aren’t familiar with your theme and how it could affect the WordPress function the_content(), you can try and log a bug report and provide all of the details as mentioned here – https://yoast.com/help/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/
