I have the Yoast SEO plugin active on my site but my search pages are being indexed and returning soft 404’s. Under Title’s & Metas it says “these pages will be noindex, follow by default, so they will never show up in search results.”

Is there another way to stop the search pages from being indexed since the plugin isn’t working?

  • Same problem for me.

I was sure Yoast SEO Pro would handle such issue, but it doesn’t!
Not sure why Yoast SEO Pro allows index of website search pages.

Any info to resolve /?s= in url would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Yoast SEO automatically sets the robots tag for default WordPress search pages to noindex, follow. This should prevent search engines from indexing the page but it is up to the search engine to honor the noindex request.

Most search engines honor the noindex so if you’re having trouble with search pages indexing, please open a new request as this topic is about an old version.

Additionally, please provide as much detail as possible such as a link to the site in question, the expected outcome, any errors you received, steps to recreate the issue, and, if possible, screenshots.
