In the browser of my website, the tagline is showing with the title of the website. Yoast SEO will not update my tagline. I have tried deactivating it and the correct tagline will appear…every time I reactive the Yoast SEO plugin it goes back to the old tagline.

→I’ve tried purging the cache of both my website and my computer.
→Deactivating and deleting it and reinstalling it.

Here is an example of what it looks like that is wrong:

    Hi @mttabor ,

Thanks for using Yoast SEO plugin. We understand that the Site name you have added within the Yoast SEO settings is not reflected in the SEO title. We apologize for the confusion and understand how this would cause some uncertainty. We’re happy to clarify this for you, so let’s get to the bottom.

First, please note that the snippet variable “Site Title” uses the value from the Site Title you added to the WordPress settings page. That means the value is not taken from the ‘Website name’ you have added to the Yoast SEO settings page.

So if you would like to output the “Site title” snippet variable as ShipleyMade, then you need to change the Site title within the Settings > General page > Site Title of WordPress settings page to update the SEO title value.

Also, if you would like to output a custom SEO title for the homepage, you can edit the homepage > and can change the SEO title via the Yoast SEO metabox. You can read more details with screenshots at our help center.

We hope this helps you in the right direction.
