I have been trying to troubleshoot an issue with Yoast where the plugin is activated, but anything pertaining to the plugin settings is completely gone from the site – there is no settings tab in the left nav, there is no SEO meta in Screen Options, nothing. If I manually type the URL to go to after the plugin install, https://domain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpseo_dashboard#top#first-time-configuration, I get a “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” – I have already disabled and enabled plugins, themes, there doesn’t seem to be a conflict. Does anyone else have this problem?

    Hi there,

Thanks for your report. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with the Yoast SEO plugin

Are you using the latest version of the Yoast SEO plugin, 20.0? If so, can you please check the browser console for errors and post a screenshot of the errors?

We have more information on how to do this here: How to find JavaScript errors with your browser’s console?

Hi Marcanor – I am confirming I am using the latest version of Yoast as well as the latest version of WP. I do see a javascript console error, but I do not believe it is related to Yoast:

Just so that we can understand that issue, is this occurring when you try to access the plugin settings from the WordPress admin dashboard and you click on Yoast SEO? Are none of those pages working?
Or is this happening in your posts and the Yoast Metabox is not working?

Can you please try to delete the Yoast SEO plugin and re-installing it?

I found the issue – apparently this line in wp-config.php – define( ‘DOING_AJAX’, true ); was throwing Yoast for a loop – in case anyone has a similar issue, that’s how I fixed it!
