I’ve recently encountered an odd issue with Yoast. My Yoast dashboard and the top bar on my site (visible when I’m logged in) are displaying an increased number of red and orange indicators, despite these posts previously being marked with green for SEO.

However, when I check these posts in edit mode, the indicators are still green. Could anyone shed light on why there’s a discrepancy between the dashboard and post edit view? This is the first time I’ve come across an issue like this.

    Hi @erinwyso,

You are facing posts that show a green circle for SEO analysis in the post edit screen; however, the same posts show red and orange circles in the list view.

    SEO score Mismatch
The Yoast plugin analyzes the content straight in your browser while you are editing. This means that while you are editing a post/page, your browser is performing the analysis “live” as you add content, make modifications, etc. This is the score that’s displayed in your editor.

Once you publish or save a post, this score is then saved to the database. The scores saved in the database are the ones that are displayed in the post overview screen. It’s possible that your database, due to database caching (or other caching), hasn’t synced the SEO scores yet. Once you edit the post and click “Update” on the post, without changing anything, should sync the “database score.”

That worked … thanks very much, Mushrit!

Yoast shows mixed red/green lights to indicate what’s optimized (green) and what needs improvement (red). Focus on fixing the red areas to enhance your SEO.
