Hi, for some reason. Yoast is displaying the product TYPE og meta tag as Article instead of Product. How can I change it?

While the Yoast SEO for WordPress plugin outputs most of the necessary schema (if you’ve configured it correctly as per this article), just to clarify, it is actually WooCommerce that outputs the ‘product’ schema.

We are not sure whether you’re using WooCoommerce to manage products on your website.

We also recommend performing a conflict check to ensure that it isn’t one of your other plugins or themes that could be causing this issue where the product schema wouldn’t output.

Thanks. Yes I’m using Woocommerce. And the Schema meta data is output correctly. But I’m only having an with the <meta property=”og:type” content=”article”> which is supposed to be <meta property=”og:type” content=”product”> when I share the product page to Facebook.

    Hi @jozephor

You’ll need the Yoast WooCommerce SEO add-on plugin for it to transform the open graph tag of your product pages from ‘article’ to ‘product’ as well as add the other relevant schema output and meta data. You can learn more about it here – https://developer.yoast.com/features/opengraph/extensions-and-addons/#yoast-woocommerce-seo-plugin
