Hi, some questions about the sitemap that is generated by Yoast.

    – category-sitemap.xml
    – post_tag-sitemap.xml
    – product_cat-sitemap.xml
    – product_tag-sitemap.xml

These are 4 sections of the sitemap’s total off which I have doubts if they add value to the sitemap, or maybe even devalue.

For example, my product category pages are pages I created in WordPress. So they are listed under https://www.bedrukt.nl/page-sitemap.xml and should not also be mentioned under product_cat-sitemap.xml.

Another example, under product_tag-sitemap.xml a tag is “basic”. This leads to a page with hardly any content.
To my knowledgde there is no value of listing these at all. But on the other hand, Yoast SEO probably knows better than me.

So what is the best practice here. Remove the four sections above and stick with blog posts index, products index and pages index?
    And if yes, how???

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @vandermeerjp

Would you like to remove the product_cat-sitemap.xml since you already have the product category pages listed under pages-sitemap.xml?

For the product tag pages: You are correct. There is little or no value when you don’t have enough content. So optimize those tag pages by adding relevant, helpful content. You can follow the article Taxonomy SEO: How to optimize your categories and tags to optimize the tag pages.
