Hi, I have a website, on which I have used Yoast for titles and meta descriptions

But now, suddenly, I can’t find Yoast anymore. It does not figure as a plugin, and I can’t use it, when I am editing a page. Also, the titles and metas I made are gone.

I tried to re-install Yoast, but it said: Installation failed – The destination folder already exits.

I have not tried this kind of issue with a plugin before. Does anybody know what could be wrong and how to fix it? ??

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

If you received an error that the ‘destination folder already exists’ when attempting a reinstallation of the plugin, that would indicate that something went wrong during a recent update which caused the plugin’s files to become incomplete or damaged. To resolve this we would recommend performing a manual update of the plugin. We have instructions on how to update the plugin manually at the following link: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/#ftp. You will need an FTP program such as FileZilla and your FTP details, which can be obtained from your host provider.

I’ve been having the same issue on several of my sites for a couple of months now. Each time the plugin is updated, it disappears from the Plugins list and gives a ‘destination folder already exists’ error when trying to re-install.

This has meant that for almost every new YOAST update, I have had to use sftp to delete the YOAST plugin from my sites before I can re-install and use it again.

No errors currently showing in console.

    +1

We have experienced the same issue.

To recap, the issue concerns the Yoast icon “disappearing” from the plugins list provided in the WordPress menu. Click here: https://prntscr.com/rz7d75

Issue is intermittent. Every time it happens, we have to uninstall/reinstall the plugin. So far, everything is OK. However, recommend Yoast flag this item for review, analysis, and fix.

    Cheers!

@jetxpert The SEO menu only appears when the plugin is installed and active. If it disappears after an update, this means that the plugin is either not active or the update did not successfully install. Please contact your web host or server admin for further assistance before attempting the next update. They should be able to enable logging for your server to see exactly what happens during the update process.

Additionally, please open a new request instead of replying as a +1. It’s easier to track issues and provide assistance when each person has their own topic. Thanks!

I sorted out the problem by deleting the folder with yoast and reinstalling it – Thanks
