    Hi,

I enabled Yoast breadcrumbs on my website (and disabled the ones that came with my theme). I kept getting Google errors with theirs.

I am unsure of how they would be displayed on the pages of my website. I already tried the ways that were suggested but I don’t see anything (the theme developer had said to insert the Yoast function in the function.php file in my child theme).

Is the best way to do it through short code? How do I do that?

    Thank you!

    Allie

Yoast SEO breadcrumbs, when enabled, are output automatically in the source code for Google to use in search results. If you would like them to be shown within your content, additional code can be added to your theme. Some themes natively support Yoast SEO breadcrumbs so you only need to enable them and your theme will automatically convert to Yoast breadcrumbs.

If your theme does not natively support Yoast breadcrumbs, you or your developer can manually insert the breadcrumb code (here) into your theme files. The most common places to add this code are within the single.php, page.php, or header.php files. Please note that this is a temporary solution because manual edits made to theme files may be overwritten with future theme updates.

Alternatively, you can use the breadcrumb shortcode [wpseo_breadcrumb] when creating or editing content on your site. This requires no theme modifications.

If you have further questions about implementation, please contact the theme developer for advice specific to your theme and to request they include native support for Yoast SEO breadcrumbs in their code.

    Ok, thank you!

But as long as I enable the breadcrumbs on Yoast…they don’t have to be seen by visitors. They are seen by Google on the back end?

Yoast breadcrumbs are included in the schema behind the scenes. You can confirm this by checking the rich results here: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results

I checked one of the pages (/st-mark/) of the URL in your site profile and the breadcrumb schema is working!
