Yoast Update Took Site Offline

Tried to update Yoast when prompted today, saw the message: Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute. After 10 mins still not back online. My host has had to disable the plugin from the back end to get my site back up, but obviously, now, I don’t have the Yoast plugin. Advice please? Thanks
