Yoast v11 + Genesis: what is best now?
-
Hi,
We are reading about the likely overlap between Genesis SEO and Yoast SEO since the release of version 11 last week. A plugin is available to disable Genesis SEO: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/disable-genesis-schema/. But many site owners are unsure if this is the right course of action, and do not want to further confuse the search bots by constantly changing structured data. Can Yoast please provide some guidance for Genesis users?
Example A: Yoast 11 + Genesis framework https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/#url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.laylita.com%2Frecettes%2Fragout-tripes-boeuf-guatita%2F
Example B: Yoast 11 + Genesis framework + Disable Genesis SEO plugin https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/#url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nicolaspujol.com%2Fhot-quinoa-salad-with-beets-and-spinach%2F
In the latter URL (B), almost everything is aggregated under Article, which I believe is what Yoast intended. But the Recipe metadata from WPRM is still standalone.
To summarize:
1/ Is the Yoast team working with Genesis developers to align structured data and if so, can you provide a rough timeline for resolution?
2/ In the meantime does using the Disable Genesis Schema plugin do the work as intended and do you recommend Genesis users to run it?
3/ Should the Recipe card schema stay as a peer to Article, or become part of Article? Thanks!
