I’m using the Yoast WordPress SEO plugin to add a meta description to the home page. For this i enter custom text into the Meta Description field provided by the Yoast plugin for every individual page.

This works well for all other pages, except for the home page. On the home page i get a meta description put together from the body text of the page.

The home page is set up using Page Builder by SiteOrigin. In order to access the Yoast SEO input fields for the home page i need to click the ‘Edit As Page’ button on the Custom Home Page.

Does anybody else experience this issue? Is this a bug in either Page Builder or Vantage? Or have i possibly missed something in the Theme settings?

How can i show the Yoast WordPress SEO meta description on the Vantage custom home page?

After some more research and testing it suddenly worked. I’m not sure why, but in case someone else is having the same issue, here a few things i did before it suddenly worked again:

    • There was a new release of the module just released now, which i’ve updated to.
    • Kept clearing the cache every time i made a change (both browser and WordPress)
    • Turned off the Custom Home Page in the Custom Home Page editor (the switch button), and then turned it back on.
