After an almost a year of hard work, new version of YOP Poll is live.

Based on your feedback and issues you have reported, we have decided that it would be better on the long run to completely redo both the user interface and also the backend.

We have been testing this new version with our users for the past months and we think we’ve nailed down most of the problems.
But for sure there will be others given the different environments our users are running.

    That being said …

If you experience any issues with the update, please let us know. We are here to help.

You can create a new topic on support forum or email us at yop.help{at}gmail.com and we’ll get back to you ASAP.

Thank you for your support in making this transition as smooth as possible.

    Darrell

  • Yes ,it arrived and I rolled it back via WP Rollback plugin

The update made it so WP Bakery Page Builder backend editor no longer works. Had to undo the plugin update to keep page editing available.

@tzigane, thank you for your feedback.

Could you let us know the version of WP Bakery Page Builder you are running so we can try and replicate this?

I have had to roll back the plugin twice because when the new version installs it removes about 20 of my polls including the active ones.
So I am not happy that I am losing my polls and that the new version is auto updating and causing problems with my site.

@geekassassin, could you let us know if you have automatic updates turned on for your plugins?

I just changed to no longer have auto updates. But why do I lose my polls when it updates?

@yourownprogrammer The site is running WP Bakery Page Builder Version 5.4.7

    @tzigane, thank you.

A few issues that I have noticed right away:

When “Show Total Votes” is set to YES, “Show Total Answers” always defaults to “YES”. When I change it to NO and save, it makes the change but whenever I go to another section or refresh, it changes back to YES.

Even though I have the “Limit Number Of Votes per User” set to YES and “Votes per user” set to 1, guest users are able to vote an infinite number of times. It does not appear to actually limit the number of votes. If the user is logged in however, it does only allow them to vote once.

@calebii, thank you for your feedback.

We were able to replicate the first issue you mentioned.
Added it to the bugs list.

For #2, that is how it is suppose to work.
“Limit number of votes per user” is only for logged in users.

If you want to block guest users as well, you can use Block feature.

This plugin breaks Modern Events Calendar by Webnus. It prevents MEC from functioning correctly in the backend such as selecting dropdown options, date picker, etc for events. It throws a bunch of console log errors when trying to do so as well:

I sent in an email, had one response, but not a second.

I don’t recall updating the plugin and do not have auto updates enabled. However, another admin may have updated the plugin by accident, we lost 40 polls visually on the dashboard, they arent deleted just now reside in a different DB. We can now only see 4 old polls.

    Any recommendations?

After reading about WP Rollback a few comments above – I have rolled back and my polls are all back and working again.
