Yep, I downloaded this plugin and it works as advertised. But what you didn’t know was this is a trial version and you get 3 downloads. Then you have to pay $100 for the premium version. $100!!!??? I’ve never heard of a plugin charging that much – I guess that’s why he calls himself a freak. I’m finding another plugin and refuse to pay $100 bucks for a plugin, plain and simple.

  • Hi SeanWard,

I apologize for the inconvenience. We’ve updated the plugin page so that it’s more obvious that this version is limited to 3 uploads.

Regarding the cost, it actually varies from time to time from anywhere to $49 to $99. We also have educational discounts which most people that are using this plugin qualify for.

Just to give you some background on this plugin, I developed this plugin over 4 years ago and have supported it ever since with feature updates and bug fixes to ensure that it always works with the latest version of WordPress. Unfortunately, that not only takes time, but also money.

I think that for the first 2 years of the plugin it was completely free, but lacked several of the features that I wanted to implement. Between support tickets for a “free” plugin and the maintenance that was involved, I was losing both time with my family and money that could be spent elsewhere. However, I believe this this plugin is very useful for a lot of people that use the Articulate software. Thus, in order to give everyone the absolute best version of the plugin that I absolutely can, I created a Premium version. For a lot of people (you’d be surprised), 3 uploads is plenty and I never see a penny from them.

I’ve got several features lined up that both the free and premium plugin users will benefit from including a localized (translated) version of the plugin and much more. Those features simply wouldn’t be possible without the premium version existing.

    Thanks,

    Brian the freak

To be honest I don’t understand why you need to use this plugin to embed content. All I do is make a folder named articulate in my uploads folder and add projects in there, then add and iframe in the page and link to the story.html in the folder
