    When users receive the “You are temporarily locked out” message, they are not being sent the email with instructions on how to remedy this.

    This provides us with no easy way to give them access again without having a developer fix it for the client – which is very annoying.

    Other emails send just fine with Wordfence- Alerts, Send test email:, etc.

    Whats going on, and is there a workaround?

    Please note that this email is sent only if the email address entered belongs to a known site administrator or someone set to receive Wordfence alerts.
    And users shouldn’t get locked out very often, you should check the reason for this and adjust the option that caused it.

    Whenever the Wordfence firewall locks a user out it provides a “Reason:” with a reason describing why you’re locked out. You can use this reason to determine which firewall rule you need to modify to prevent this from happening in future. If the message only says that you have been temporarily locked out, then you have been blocked by settings in the “login security options” section.

    I have actually gone into the DB and can see my correct email and username…. still it will not send me an email after locking me out??

    Hi troyboy01,
    Please open a new support thread regarding your question, it would be helpful to include a feedback about:
    – Making sure the email address you entered is linked to an “admin” user.
    – Do you have any membership/user related plugin installed?

    If the site administrator was let go recently and we were provided all the information regarding on how access the website and because of wrong input password I was locked out. Any advice?

    You must enter the same “administrator” user’s email address used, alternatively, please check this guide to regain access to the website.

    P.S. for future questions, please open a separate support thread, replying to other users’ threads isn’t recommended.
