I’m building a child theme based on TwentyTwelve with Slideshow 2.2.7. It includes the footer code and there are no javascript errors. The plugin almost works. That is to say, it works beautifully, just lacking the images. No difference between using the shortcode or the php snippet.

What happens is that when inserting images, I use the slide inserter popup and click ‘insert’ next to the images I want that are uploaded to the media library. A new ‘image slide’ box appears on the right sidebar, with all the fields blank. And where I presume there should be a thumbnail of the image at the top of the box, it just has the slideshow title shown as a link. If I click that link, it gives an error: "You attempted to edit an item that isn’t an attachment. Please go back and try again." Do I need to attach each set of images to each page? (I’m putting together about 50 posts initially, each with it’s own slideshows with ~5 images for each slideshow)

The output gives me a black slideshow box with arrows & pagination matching the number of slides I’ve created (using ‘dark’ slideshow style). Looks great! Only problem is that the slides only appear as the slideshow title text, with no images. They move on the various animations between slides, but each slide just displays the slideshow title, no image.

(additionally and possibly separately when inserting images, the first image in the slide inserter popup doesn’t have an ‘insert’ button next to it, although there is an ‘insert’ button next to ‘load more images’ at the bottom of the slide inserter popup, as if the buttons shifted down one row from where they’re supposed to line up)

Sorry for the wall of text, but I’m working on this locally so I don’t have a live version to link to and it’s difficult to explain ??

It sounds like another plugin is conflicting with the slideshow. You could test whether or not this is the case by disabling your plugins one by one until the slideshow appears to function normally again.

No other plugins running. Slideshow is the first plugin I’ve added and tried to set up for this site. Sorry, I meant to mention that above.

I’ll add that when I right-click on the title text that shows in the slideshow box and select ‘view image’, the browser loads the home page. When I right-click on the title text that shows in the slideshow box and select ‘view image info’ it tells me the size is 0x0. This even though it obviously was able to find the images to display in the inserter popup. (the insert buttons not lining up with images seems very odd)

I’ve removed and reinstalled the plugin, deleted and recreated the slideshow (the insert buttons not lining up with images seems very odd) all with the same exact results – except with the difference that the title text no longer shows in the slideshow box.

That’s very strange. The only thing I can think of, is that either something went wrong while uploading the images, or some software that’s required to support the slideshow is out of date.

What happens if you try to look the image file up in the media library? Can you view it full-screen?

If it’s the second case and jQuery is out of date (which is illogical as you seem to be running version 3.5.1), or your local PHP does not suppport some features required by the slideshow or the media library, the slideshow may work on an online server.
