After upgrading to wordpress 3.9, when I go to add gallery/image in nextgen 2.0, I am all of a sudden getting this, cross browser.

You browser doesn’t have Flash, Silverlight, HTML5, or HTML4 support.

Have tried disabling and re-enabling nextgen alone and then all plugins, but no luck.

    Any help appreciated. Thanks

@kosis – A new topic just allows you to have your own space and to allow others to have a focused discussion on their particular issue although I do understand your involvement on this topic/thread.

As it is, the message is fairly generic and essentially points to a general upload issue more than a specific lacking of functionality.

Cais: thanks again; gratifying that you are following the thread.

I respectfully disagree: my message is not generic; the topic heading is precisely the error message and lack of functionality to which I am referring. I have merely wondered whether pursuing the flash angle — since NextGEN does not use it — (or the angle “Silverlight, HTML5, or HTML4”) might not contribute toward resolving the issue the others are having, i.e., precisely with respect to their “focused discussion.” As Stephen trenchantly put it: “nextgen is pretty useless without a functioning upload.”

same issue there since upgrade with WP 3.9
kind of stuck to manage the website images and slider.

Where can we find the previous version of Nextgen please ?

@tsun4ever – All previously released version of NextGEN Gallery can be found here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/nextgen-gallery/developers/

I would also suggest starting your own topic to ensure everyone gets a fair review of their specific issue.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

Same issue.. Since updating to 3.9… I have needed a couple of updates to plugins and themes to get them to work completely correct with 3.9. And I am guessing NExtGen needs an update but they just don’t know it yet… Hopefully they realize this soon. Since I am dead in the water on one of my sites..

@sobceo: If you require assistance then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic instead of tagging onto someone else’s topic.

Okay.. But sounds kind of dumb to have 1000 different messages about the same topic…

@sobceo: These forums have guidelines. Please read them. As you will see, one of these guidelines – entitled Where to Post – specifically states:

Unless you are using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster, do not post in someone else’s thread. Start your own topic.

    Please abide by this.

I have still not got round to the bug report, sorry about that, problem still there though.

Is nextgen waiting on me before they look into the problem? Let me know and I will swing into action…

@danbailan – You specific issue, yes … your Bug Report may be able to help us to help you get this sorted out.

As this is really a more generic message than a specific one it is not usually the same issue from site to site that sees this message.

    Hi Cais,

Updated to latest nextgen version, 2.0.65 on my dev site and problem solved and then updated my live site and again problem solved. Fingers crossed no other problems as a result of the update.

So I can now upload images again. Happy.

This also solved some other nextgen gltiches and bugs, though I still cannot insert a featured image from nextgen, just get a greyed out box that closes when you try and do anything – I guess start a new topic for that.

And custom css does not work, but I overwrite the core css files, so not really a problem – I keep the originals in case of probs! Again a new topic…

But thsnks for the help and pleased I didn’t need to bother the debugging guys.

@danbailan – Thanks for the updates … and you are correct, it would be best to have new topics for “new” issues. You are always welcome to submit a Bug Report as well.

    – Cais.

I was facing this problem but i solved it.
Just upgrade my WordPress and update all plugins its solved.

    Hope it will work

@md.javed15 – Thanks for sharing your experience.

    – Cais.

I found from my backups (Multisite + WPML install) that NextGen 2.0.33 Worked fine. I didn’t check every version, but earlier versions got me no html 5, 4, flash error, later versions got me no visual editor in posts and pages editor.
