You can't manually assign badges, documentation is false

Please update your documentation to state that you need buddypress to manually assign badges, because the documentation at this link is simply not true at all:

As of version 1.6 you can manually award badges to your users. Simply go to your Users page in your admin area and select to edit the user you want to manually award a badge to.
In the top tab row select “Badges” which will bring you to the badge assignment page. Here you can see the badges a user has earned along with those the user not yet earned.
This is not true at all. The documentation should read “this feature requires buddypress”
There are other plugins that use mycred, ultimate member pro and user pro for example. As of 1.6.3 there is absolutely no tab in any user profile on any page in the back end that lets you add badges to anyone’s profile as the documentation claims.
