You change image/thumbs name: it’s a big problem
-
Hello.
I have tried several plugins and services similar to yours, and yours (in terms of efficiency ad image quality/compression ratio) is the best.
But… there is a big problem (which I would dare to define “a bug”):
unlike others (like shortpixel), your plugin changes THE NAME of my images in urls (not only replacing my Server URL with your CND url) replacing the references to the exact thumbs set by my theme with the reference to the MAIN image file!
So, if your Server doesn’t respond quickly with on the fly compression/conversion of my images, instead of the thumbs set by my theme (e.g. “image-200×200.jpg”) the MAIN image is called, at its maximum size (“image.jpg”)!
This creates a huge problem of slowing down loading pages and also an incorrect representation of the images on my site: instead of placing the 200x200px square cropped thumbs to the left of my posts, it puts original images (1080x763px) reduced through CSS to 200x141px, causing very big slowdowns, as well as graphic inconsistencies.
Why don’t you leave the name of the images exactly those displayed by my theme (thumbs, not MAIN image)?
So, in the (many) cases where your Server doesn’t immediately respond converting my images on the fly, at least the right thumbs form my Server would be shown, saving bandwidth and preserving the graphic aspect of my theme!
