• The owner of this plugin released an update that removed 90% of the original plugin functionality and then wanted users to pay to have the functionality returned to their sites.

Those sites with auto-update enabled thus came into work one day and their sites were broken as a result of this update.

I have never heard of a more immoral and ridiculous move.

Do not install or pay for this plugin.

    Hi @mduschak,

While we disagree with your view of our plugin, we would like to mention that you can now get the legacy extension files for free: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/theme-my-login-7-free-extensions/

Thank you for the offer of free extensions.

Please consider where the WordPress community would be if everyone followed your practices.

This community is built on trust. Releasing and update that is destructive to your users is irresponsible and thoughtless.

Hope you are able to recover the trust you have lost.

Have to agree with Mike, here. Helluva thing you’ve done to your users with this update. I would like to take you up on your offer to get the legacy extensions, but the link you provided above is a support request form, which requires a license key to submit. Please advise.

Edit: I managed to wrap my monkey brain around the select dropdown to submit the form. Thanks in advance for providing the legacy extensions.

This caused me a ton of grief and lost me customers. Hope you’ve learned something from the responses.
