Yesterday, my website worked fine. Today, I sent my website to someone and they noticed a grammatical error. I went to fix it (I’m the admin) and I can’t. The only thing it would let me do is delete a page. I can’t not turn around and add a page.

I have tried the standard debugging methods as listed on the master troubleshooting list.

I don’t know what else to do. Help!!??

  • So to confirm, you did this?

Deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

Switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

Resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Yes, I did all of that (and cleared my cache several times in the process). Actually, I went on to try to manually upgrade WordPress (even though I had the latest version). In the process of doing that, I brought my website down.

Now when I try to get to my website, I get this message:

Warning: require(/homepages/5/d354198350/htdocs/wordpress/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /homepages/5/d354198350/htdocs/wordpress/wp-settings.php on line 19

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/homepages/5/d354198350/htdocs/wordpress/wp-includes/load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php5′) in /homepages/5/d354198350/htdocs/wordpress/wp-settings.php on line 19

On your server can you see the file wordpress/wp-includes/load.php?

Good grief! I went back and manually added the load.php – I don’t know how that wasn’t transferred, but that fixed it. And now my previous problem has been solved. All’s well that ends well, I guess.

    THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
