• I just went to sign in to one of my blogs and got the error message “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” I can’t access my other blog. This has never happened before.

Meanwhile, I’m having a problem with the other blog-my categories disappeared. I posted on that yesterday, but got no response.

    What’s going on?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

How do you deactivate a plug in if you can’t get to the dashboard?
What does it mean to reset the plugins folder?
