    Hi! After beeing heavily under attack from bot-password reset miss-use, I first installed a recaptcha plugin and then went to my Solid Security settings to see if I can improve things further then the default settings. What I found was the “Get more security” subpage. In there I triggered the following features:

    • Identify Server IPs -> Run
    • Change User ID 1 -> Run
    • Create MU Plugin Loader -> Run
    • Check File Permissions -> Run
      • I got 4 warnings and used filezilla and selected the file/folder with right click -> File permissions… and change the number value according to the warning. And then rerun the test in Solid Security. And got all green lights.
    • Server Confiq Rules -> Run
    • wp-config.php Rules -> Run
    • Security Check Pro -> Run

    Shortly after that, the admin navigation shows less menue elements and then I get this message when I try to open the admin login page:

    You do not have sufficient permissions to access this admin page.

    Reason: The user (here stands my login email) doesn’t have the “read” capability that is required to access the “Dashboard → Home” menu item.

    What do I have to do to regain access to my page?

    Thanks!

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    OK. I found this explainer which let′s me enter the page again:

    https://help.solidwp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021124173-How-Do-I-Disable-All-Features-If-I-Can-t-Access-My-Site

    But. On this thread the Plugin Support suggests to check the banned IP list either in the dashboard or in the htaccess. And it wasn′t there.

    So I disabled the extra line in wp-confiq file again and then I could enter the admin area again. Strange. Maybe it only was a temporal ban from my admin.

    Will update this thread if it happens again.

    Hi @sakowporg, thank you for keeping us updated and I’m glad to know you regained access to your site!

    Running the “Change User ID 1” tool is a bit risky on older sites and it might’ve contributed to the permissions issue. Still, the issue seems to be temporary, so hopefully all is good now.

    If you’re still running into that error, let us know. Thank you!
